Scholars Brief Middle East Conflict at McChord Maj Clint ZumBrunnen (Tel Aviv OSC 07) and Maj Ben Jonsson (Amman OSC 06) briefed the Northwest chapter of the Airlift Tanker Association on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict from the vantage point of their Olmsted experiences in Israel and Jordan. About 70 people from McChord Field, WA, including the 62d Airlift Wing Commander and the Joint Base Lewis-McChord Deputy Commander, attended the luncheon at the base collocated club. In addition, 20 cadets from the University of Washington ROTC detachment were in attendance. Majors ZumBrunnen and Jonsson were able to share Israeli and Arab perspectives on the conflict, offer their thoughts on the relationship between this conflict and US strategy in the region, and promote the fantastic opportunity that the Olmsted Scholar Program provides.
