Scholar Participation
Olmsted Scholars are encoured to support and participate in all symposia sponsored and funded by the Olmsted Foundation at the three Military Service Academies. To find more detailed and updated information go to Conference Schedules on this page and link directly to the sponsoring institution's website.
In addition to providing financial support, The Olmsted Foundation serves a coordinating function and provides information concerning the symposia dates, topics and points of contact. The Scholar is responsible for securing time off from work, making travel arrangements and coordinating the specific type of support to be given to the symposia and the sponsoring institution. Normally the institution will provide financial support for lodging and meals, and in some instances cover travel costs. The Olmsted Foundation may be able to help cover costs of Scholar travel and participation if their unit or the institution is unable to do so. The Scholar must gain approval from The Foundation for any required financial assistance before committing to any non-refundable travel or participation arrangements.
