USAFA Cadets visit with Olmsted Scholar in Beijing Posted: Mar 31, 2008 | Posted By: Dave Estep
Cadets from the United States Air Force Academy, traveling on the Olmsted Undergraduate Overseas Travel program, visited China. Their itinerary included a stop in Beijing, and during their visit they were able to spend time with Jade Yim (OSC '06). The Foundation was happy to provide funds to sponsor a dinner of roast duck for the group, and during their visit the Cadets were able to gain firsthand insight from Captain Yim of her Olmsted experience in China.
The Foundation works to coordinate these types of visits to help officer candidates better understand the Olmsted Scholar Program, as well as see how important and beneficial the program is for active duty officers.
Other Olmsted sponsored travel groups interested in coordinating visits with overseas Olmsted Scholars, and Olmsted Scholars looking for sponsored travel groups traveling to their areas, should use the itineraries listed in the Undergraduate Program section to reach appropriate POCs/Scholars. Anyone with questions, or in need of access to the itineraries, should contact The Foundation.
